Family Mediation

Mediation Information and Assessment Meetings, or MIAMs,  are conducted individually and cost £120 per person. They usually last an hour.

Joint family mediation meetings are £125 per person per hour, and generally last an hour.

An assessment for eligibility for legal aid will be made before we begin and for those eligible, there is no charge.

We are also able to use the current Mediation Voucher scheme to fund mediation in those cases where the arrangements for children are being discussed. We will be happy to make an application on your behalf, and if successful, each party’s participation in the mediation will be subsidised by £250 which can be used to fund joint mediation sessions.

Family Dispute Resolution

Initial individual meetings with the Mediator are £120 per party and may involve more than one participant if there are more than two people involved in the dispute.

Joint meetings are £250 per hour and this is divided equally between the participants.

Civil and Commercial Mediation

The majority of civil and commercial disputes can be resolved in a single session generally lasting up to half a day, but this depends on the complexity of the issue and no two mediations are the same. The anticipated duration of the mediation will be agreed with all parties before the mediation session.

Our fee for civil and commercial mediation conducted by Caroline or Alan is £480 per half day, per participant. Robert’s rates are different, and please contact us if you would like to discuss working with him.

Special rates may be available for healthcare and educational institutions, registered charities and similar organisations. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

The sums quoted above include an allowance for reading the parties’ written submissions in advance of the mediation session. This allows the mediator to gain an understanding of the nature of the dispute, thus saving time during the meeting itself.

Workplace Mediation

Our fee for workplace mediation is £180 per hour. The fees are paid by the employer, who also usually provides a suitable venue in which the mediation can take place.

Special rates may be available for registered charities and similar organisations. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Our terms and conditions for workplace mediation can be found here.

Community and Neighbour Mediation

Community mediation is charged at £240 per hour and the fees are split equally among the participants. The minimum period of engagement is three hours.

Venue

Mediation can take place in any suitable location, provided that it is appropriately equipped, quiet and neutral.  If there is no suitable space, or if the space suggested is unacceptable to one party for any reason, we can make arrangements to use conference facilities across the country.  The use of these facilities is generally charged at between £15 and £40 per hour, and the cost is divided equally between the parties.

Mediation can also be held online.
